MILLBROOK

The Dairy Barn is a year-round family retreat constructed from historic Millbrook stone that speaks to the area’s local architectural traditions. The lodge’s great room, dining room, and kitchen are defined by a two-sided fireplace with exposed chimney and soaring vaulted ceilings, making this central area the heart of the house. The master suite—including sitting area, under-eave closets and two-person tub—was designed for complete privacy, as were several guest bedrooms (some en suite, others with shared bath). In a separate wing, the children’s room includes bunk beds, space to play and a cozy reading nook. Accessible from one end of the house is a sun room—all windows and French doors—leading to a stone terrace and, beyond it, the pool and outdoor spa.

LAKEVILLE

This house, set on a secluded 20 acres in Litchfield County, reflects the historic sensibility of Northwest Connecticut. Luxemark was asked to design the family rooms and common spaces, adding character and a sense of proportion to each. In close collaboration with the client, Luxemark chose colors, textiles and custom objects to highlight distinctive architectural details and south facing views. The end result: a warm family home that eloquently captures the spirit and style of its historic location.
